Teacher Training Seminar at Urbino University, Italy

July 13- 17 At Urbino University
No Audition required
One week Methodology Lectures on Vaganova Method and Bolshoi Academy Curriculum. Let by Professor Olga Popova. An authorized teacher for the Bolshoi Academy.

The Seminar consist of theory and practical courses during the Bolshoi Summer Intensive Program.

1st, 2nd, 3rd year of Training (Classes for Beginner): 

Setting of the professional bases, cultivation of initial skills of coordination, beginning working with the artistic aspects, the expression and the musicality of a performance in relation with the age of the participant and the objective of the class; disclosure of creative individuality.

4th, 5th year of training (Intermediate classes):

Work on adaptation and perception for the performing of more complex movements and their assembly; further development of the musicality, expression, artistry and individuality in the performance.

Monday to Friday 10: OO AM to 3:00 PM

All theory classes held at Urbino University. The practical demonstration classes are held at the dance studio during the BBASI.

Teachers Bio:

IRINA PYATKINA

Bolshoi Ballet Academy
Honored Artist of (the) Russian Federation

After graduating from Bolshoi Ballet Academy in 1978, Irina Pyatkina was right away invited to join the Bolshoi Ballet Theater. At the Bolshoi Theater she worked with renowned and world famous pedagogues and rehearsal directors such as Galina Ulanova, Marina Kondratieva and Raisa Struchkova.  Miss Pyatkina has danced in numerous ballets choreographed by Yuri Grigorovich and Vladimir Vassiliev.  During her twenty years of work at the Bolshoi Theater, Miss Pyatkina had become a principal dancer and performed leading roles in such ballets as Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Le Sylphides, Chopeniana, Petrushka, Swan Lake, Don Quhote and Legend of Love.  In 1998 Miss Pyatkina graduated from Russian Academy of Theater Arts where she received a highest pedagogy education.
After finishing her performing career at the Bolshoi Theater, Miss Pyatkina was invited to join the faculty at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, her alma mater.  In 2005 Miss Pyatkina received a title of Master Teacher from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy where she a current faculty member of the classical ballet department.  She teaches ballet technique, Pointe and repertoire classes.  Miss Pyatkina had taught master classes all over the world during her bright and continuous career.

 

EKATERINA TRUNINA

Teacher

Ekaterina Trunina was born and raised in Moscow.  She had graduated from Bolshoi Ballet Academy in 1999. She had joined the Stanislavsky Ballet Theater where she had become a soloist ballerina and performed with the company until 2008.  During her work at the Stanislavsky Theater Ekaterina had performed numerous roles in such ballets as The Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, The Nutcracker, Giselle and Scheherazade.  In 2003, Ekaterina had received a Teaching Degree from Bolshoi Ballet Academy Higher Education department and was promoted to a full time professorship at the Bolshoi Academy in 2014.  Miss Trunina had traveled extensively to Korea, USA, Italy and Spain as a master teacher for Bolshoi Ballet Academy workshops and master classes.
Ms. Trunina specializes in teaching character technique, ballet and Bolshoi Stretch class.

 

LIUDMILA ERMAKOVA

Teacher

Lyudmila Ermakova was born in Moscow. In 1985, she was accepted into Bolshoi Ballet Academy, graduating  in a class of G. K. Kuznetsova.
Upon graduation, Liudmila was invited to join The Bolshoi Theater. She had quickly rose to became a soloist.
Her  career span over two decades. She had performed in Don Quixote, The Nutcracker,  La Bayadere,  Le Corsair, Les Sylphides, Raimonda,  Golden Age, Ivan the Terrible and many others.
She had been touring all over the world with Bolshoi ballet.
While performing, Liudmila had attended and graduated  from the Teachers Institute of Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Her master teacher was the famous Sofia Golovkina.
In 2016, Lyudmila had become a master teacher at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.
She is teaching ballet technique and character dance.


Teacher Training Seminar: 
 OLGA POPOVA

Bolshoi Ballet Academy
Teacher

Is a professor of classical dance of junior and middle classes, as well as partnering faculty.
Knowledge and skills received by students of  Olga Popova  allowed them to grow up to the soloists of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, as well as other leading theaters. Some are laureates of various international and Russian ballet competitions.
Professor Popova graduated  from the Academy in 1985. She had enjoyed her dance career at the Academic Music Theater Stanislavsky and Nemirovich Danchenko, where she had worked from 1985 to 2007. She had risen to the rank of soloist dancer at the theater.
In 2009 Olga Popova complited her higher education at the Academy Teachers Training College. She had become a full time faculty member at the Academy in 2009.
Mrs. Popova is currently leading a seminar of  the basics of teaching choreographic disciplines to the International body of students at the Academy. She had also been teaching the method of Bolshoi training at choreographic institutes in Russia, being the adjudicator for the Bolshoi Academy Method in Russia.
Olga Popova has also  led international workshops in USA, Italy, Japan and Spain where she had been on the board of several international completions.
