Durante il workshop i partecipanti lavoreranno a sessioni di lavoro fisico e a esercizi che andranno a stimolare la creatività. La mattina il lavoro si concentrerà sull’esplorazione sensoriale, muscolare e scheletrica del corpo e sull’utilizzo dello spazio circostante. Nel pomeriggio invece si svilupperà un processo di ricerca individuale e collettivo lasciando spazio all’immaginazione, all’improvvisazione e alla creazione coreografica.
Durante il workshop inoltre ci sarà un momento dedicato alla trasmissione del materiale di repertorio della compagnia Les Ballets C de la B, in rapporto al percorso formativo.
Elie Tass
Danzatore e performer. Nasce, cresce e segue la formazione sul movimento a Gent.
Pratica numerosi sport dalle arti marziali alla break dance, si sposta ad Anversa per studiare danza al Higher Institute for Danc, ricevendo in questo periodo l’invito di Thierry Smits a far parte della comapgnia Thor a Bruxelles.
Nel 2004 lavora con Jan Fabre/Troubleyn in Tannhäuser. Dal 2005 lavora con Alain Platel/Les Ballets C de la B nella creazione e nel tour di vsprs, pitié!, Out of Context– for Pina, Tauberbach e Nicht schlafen. Nel 2012 lavora con Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui in Puz/zle. Durante questi anni inizia anche una ricerca personale.
Attualmente è in tour con Nicht Schlafen (ultima creazione con Alain Platel/Les Ballets C de la B) e sta sviluppando un duo con Nicola Leahey.

WORKSHOP DI DANZA CONTEMPORANEA E REPERTORIO LES BELLETS C DE LA B
Fluctuating our attention between collective and individual exploration and experience, in this workshop we will traverse different layers of the body. We will do this not so much in a detailed anatomical study but rather in concrete and practical physical work and trajectories that I like to propose as some kind of body labour, including a focus on and push for willful effort. Within these proposed strict-yet-free contexts, we will cultivate and delve into the body as the physical-mental landscape and mass that it is.
By approaching our own and other bodies as tools to nurture and refine our physical awareness and wealth, we absorb what we encounter and invite ourselves and others to physically process this and simultaneously attempt to navigate and play inside these sometimes simple sometimes more complex territories, maybe break them open and see where this might lead us.
We will also visit material that comes from Les Ballets C de la B performances, and attempt to establish a space where both this and the previous labour can then not only co-exist but substantially influence and enrich each other, presenting new impressions.
Elie Tass
Elie Tass was born, grew up and studied Physical Education in Gent. Being very invested in physical disciplines, from martial arts to ballet and breakdance, he then went on to study dance at the Higher Institute for Dance (Antwerp), during which he was invited by Thierry Smits to work with Company Thor in Brussels (Petits Baigneurs and d’Orient) and Marc Bogaerts (Stabat Mater). In 2004 he worked with Jan Fabre/Troubleyn in Tannhäuser. Since 2005 he’s been working with Alain Platel/Les Ballets C de la B in the creations and touring of vsprs, pitié!, Out of Context – for Pina, Tauberbach and nicht schlafen. In 2012 he worked with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui for the creation of Puz/zle. During those years he also started research towards more personal work. For Queensland based contemporary dance company Dancenorth, he and Ross McCormack created (sic) in 2011. Currently he is touring with nicht schlafen (the latest creation with Alain Platel/Les Ballets C de la B), is developing a duet with Nicola Leahey and has been part of Opium, a performance by Hyo-Seung Ye created and performed in Seoul.
